Summer Bible Study

So, I was thinking that I really want to try and get all of the young woman (probably ages 15-?) together and do a 4 week bible study during the summer sometime...I thought that we could meet twice a week (Tues/Thurs) and come up with 4 topics that young woman are really struggling with these days to cover. I also thought it would be cool at the end of the last week to take a trip up to my camp and end it there:) Let me know what all of you think!

Sometimes you gotta love "The Message"

This is from Matthew 5-

"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand- shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."

I love my NIV, but sometimes the Message just makes you see the same passage you've grown up with in a different "light." Hope you're all shining today. And make somebody thirsty (that's what salt does, right?) for Christ!

2 Corinthinas 4:8-18

2 Corinthians 4:8-18 (New International Version)

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Just thought I would share this with you guys today. <3

Beginning!

Hello,

Welcome to the blog for Young Woman's Bible Study! I have created this blog to keep all of us in touch with God as well as with each other. I hope that we can use it to discuss our ideas, opinions, hopes, dreams, relationships, and whatever else that is going on in our lives that we need some support with. I can't wait to get started!
